ZIGI – Perhelatan Emmy Awards 2021 yang dinantikan aktor dan aktris Amerika Serikat akhirnya digelar secara terbuka tahun ini. Aktor, sutradara, penulis hingga produser sudah bisa berkumpul di Event Deck Microsoft Theater, Los Angeles, Amerika Serikat.

Emmy Awards 2021 Jadi Ajang Kebangkitan Hollywood

Acara Emmy Awards 2021 dibatasi untuk sekitar 600 peserta karena pedoman kesehatan dan keselamatan di masa pandemi Covid-19. Semua peserta diharuskan menunjukkan bukti vaksinasi dan tes Covid-19 negatif yang diambil 48 jam sebelum upacara.

Acara yang juga dipindahkan ke luar ruangan dinilai sebagai pertanda kebangkitan Hollywood setelah mengalami masa-masa berat akibat pembatasan. Selain itu, media center juga digantikan dengan mitra virtual demi menghindari kerumunan yang berlebihan.

"Jika mereka dapat melakukannya secara langsung dengan aman, ini menunjukkan bahwa Hollywood bergerak maju di masa-masa sulit. Saya pikir itulah yang hebat tentang apa yang telah dilakukan Hollywood. Tetap bergerak dengan aman dan dengan cara-cara kreatif untuk menjaga industri tetap berjalan," ungkap CEO Impact Agency Darin Pfeiffer, dikutip dari Variety, Senin, 20 September 2021.

WandaVision Dapat 23 Nominasi Emmy Awards 2021

Ajang kali ini menjadi sejarah bagus bagi WandaVision yang mendapat total 23 nominasi. Pencapaian ini menjadi catatan penting bagi Marvel Studios yang benar-benar serius menggarap serial ini sejak bergabung dengan Disney.

Dibintangi oleh Elizabeth Olsen sebagai Wanda Maximoff dan Paul Bettany sebagai Vision, serial ini bercerita tentang kehidupan suatu pasangan dalam membangun kebahagiaan rumah tangga. Serial ini juga banjir ulasan positif dari kritikus. WandaVision pertama kali tayang di platform Disney Plus Hotstar pada Januari 2021 lalu.

Selain WandaVision, serial Netflix berjudul The Crown dan The Mandalorian yang tayang di Disney Plus juga memimpin nominasi dengan masing-masing 24 nominasi. Kemudian HBO dan HBO Max menduduki puncak jaringan dan streamer dengan total 130 nominasi, diikuti oleh Netflix dengan 129.
