Trade Ministry Issues Nine New Import Regulations
KATADATA -Trade Ministry has just issued nine new regulations to support the first phase economic policy package launched by the government in early September.
These are part of some 32 regulations that were planned to be simplified. Eight of them are deregulation package while the remaining 24 are debureaucratization package.
“Our staffs work swiftly so that there are nine new Trade Minister Regulations that were signed within three weeks after the issuance of the policy,” said Trade Minister Thomas Lembong in his official statement to Katadata on Thursday (10/1).
Thomas Lembong explains that the issuance of these nine regulations will provide an investment certainty for investors. “This is a fundamental issue that can help regain the trust of the people and investors towards the government in addition to building a positive image,” he said.
Five of these regulations are immediately applicable after their signing such as regulations on clove imports, sodium trypholyphosphate imports , inter-island sugar trade, tire import, and optical disc imports. The remaining regulations will be applicable in the near future with Regulation on Import Identification Number (API) is the longest of them and will be applicable in next December.
Following is the list of new Trade Minister Regulations:
- Regulation of Trade Minister Number 70/M-DAG/PER/9/2015 on Import Identification Number (API).
- Regulation of Trade Minister No. 71/M-DAG/PER/9/2015 on Provisions of Horticultural Product Imports.
- Regulation of Trade Minister No. 72/M-DAG/PER/9/2015 on Third Amendment to Regulation of Trade Minister No. 14/M-DAG/PER/3/2007 on Standardization of Trading Services and Supervison over Compulsory Indonesian National Standards (SNI) of Tradable Goods and Services.
- Regulation of Trade Minister No. 73/M-DAG/PER/9/2015 on Labeling Requirements in Bahasa Indonesian on Goods.
- Regulation of Trade Minister No. 74/M-DAG/PER/9/2015 on Inter-Island Trade of Refined Sugar Crystals.
- Regulation of Trade Minister No. 75/M-DAG/PER/9/2015 on Revocation of the Decree of Industry and Trade Minister No. 528/MPP/KEP/7/2002 on Provisions of Clove Imports.
- Regulation of Trade Minister No. 76/M-DAG/PER/9/2015 on Revocation of Regulation of Trade Minister No. 11/M-DAG/PER/3/2010 on Provision of Machinery, Machine Equipment, Raw Material, Blank Optical Disc, and Recorded Optical Disc Imports as was amended by Regulation of Trade Minister No. 35/M-DAG/PER/3/2010.
- Regulation of Trade Minister No. 77/M-DAG/PER/9/2015 on Revocation of Regulation of Trade Minister No. 41/M-DAG/PER/12/2011 on Provisions of Sodium Trypholyphosphate (STPP) Imports.
- Regulation of Trade Minister No. 78/M-DAG/PER/9/2015 on Revocation of Regulation of Trade Minister No. 45/M-DAG/PER/12/2011 on Provisions of Tire Imports.
