KATADATA ? The President inaugurated Pertamina?s Integrated Mega Project Donggi-Senoro located in Banggai Regency, Central Sulawesi on Sunday (2/7). This project used US$ 5.8 billion of investment, which equivalent to IDR 77 trillion. This is a form of government?s commitment in accelerating the infrastructure development in the energy sector.

There are four big integrated projects in the Mega Projecy, which are the central processing plant (CPP) for gas in Senoro-Toili, CPP in Matindok Block, amonia factory that belongs to PT Panca Amara Utama, and LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) refinery of Donggi-Senoro.

Donggi-Senoro is also the fourth LNG refinery that the government has built after Arun, Bontang, and Tangguh (Train I and II). Especially for refineries, the investment planted can reach IDR 37.5 trillion, or almost half of the total investment for the mega project.

The refinery with capacity of 2.1 million ton per year is the start of refinery development with upstream scheme, where the LNG production is seperated from the upstream activities. The scheme is also profitable for the country because it will make the development of the refinery without the need of cost recovery disbursement when it is operational.

The product of the refinery would then be allocated for the domestic need of gas, like for the supply for the regasificaton of Arun, power plants, industrial and amoniac factory needs. Beside that, according to the Gas Business Agreement that has been signed by the government, the LNG would also be exported to Korea (Korea Gas) and Japan (Chubu Electric and Kyusu Electric).
