Pertalite to be sold in the Amount of 3 Million Kiloliter Next Year

KATADATA - PT Pertamina (Persero) has targeted Pertalite fuel sales to reach 3 million kiloliter next year. And in order to reach the target, Pertamina will add more fuel stations that will sell the product in the whole Indonesia by the end of this year.
When Pertalite was being launched last July, PT Pertamina (Persero) has targeted the sales of Pertalite to reach around 2.9 million to 5.8 million kiloliter per year. However, this target may be able to be realized next year. This year, the sales of Pertalite may only reach 2 million kiloliter.
At least we want the target of Pertalite’s sales to reach 3 million kiloliter next year, as said by Pertamina’s downstream oil and gas director Ahmad Bambang to Katadata, Wednesday (18/11).
Ahmad said that the difference in price is not that big, which has made the Premium fuel users to use Pertalite instread. And up until now, 12 percent of Premium users have moved to use Pertalite.
With this number, the sale of Premium fuel is decreasing. Before, Petralite, 80 percent of fuel that is used in Indonesia is Premium, and now, also due to the unsubsidized policy that befall Premium fuel, the usage of Premium has declined to reach 67 percent. And there is a possibility that until the end of the year, the portion of Premium sales can continue to fall to reach 65 percent.
The plunging sales of Premium fuel can also decrease the import of that particular fuel. Pertamina has recorded that last October, Premium import has fallen up to 37 percent. And next year, Ahmad said that there is a possibility that the import can continue to fall by another 30 percent.
The plunging in the import can also happen because the Trans Pacific Petrochemical Indotama (TPPI) refinery and RFCC Kilang Cilacap have been operational. Ahmad even said that next year, Indonesia will not need to import Solar type of fuel, and that the production can experience a surplus by 400,000 barrels. Furthermore, Pertalite can still be produced within the country; so there is no need for extra import.
