Surat lamaran kerja merupakan dokumen pelengkap yang harus disertakan bersama dengan curriculum vitae atau CV. Dengan melampirkan surat lamaran kerja, peluang untuk mendapatkan wawancara dapat meningkat.

Struktur Surat Lamaran Kerja Bahasa Inggris

1. Informasi dan data diri. Cantumkan nama, alamat, nomor telepon, dan alamat email.
2. Tanggal. Sertakan tanggal pada pojok kanan atas. Penulisan tanggal dalam bahasa Inggris bisa menggunakan American Style. Gaya tersebut menggunakan format Month-Date-Year (MM-DD-YYYY). Contoh: August 17th, 2022.
3. Nama perusahaan dan alamat perusahaan.
4. Sapaan. Jika merujuk orang yang spesifik gunakan “Dear Mr., Ms., Dr. ____”. Jika secara umum, gunakan “Dear Human Resources Department”.
5. Paragraf pembuka. Dalam paragraf pembuka, perkenalkan diri Anda dan tujuan Anda menulis surat lamaran kerja. Sertakan juga sumber lowongan pekerjaan.
6. Paragraf tengah. Jelaskan latar belakang, keterampilan, serta keahlian yang membuat Anda memenuhi kualifikasi untuk posisi tersebut. Paragraf ini dapat digunakan untuk menunjukkan kemampuan persuasi.
7. Informasi kontak dan Penutup. Di akhir surat, bicarakan tentang ketersediaan dan berikan kontak untuk menghubungi Anda. Ucapkan terima kasih atas waktu dan pertimbangannya.
