Daftar Nominasi Oscar 2023, Michelle Yeoh Masuk Kategori Best Actress

ZIGI – The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAs) resmi mengumumkan daftar nominasi untuk Academy Awards ke-95 alias Piala Oscar 2023. Ajang penghargaan bergengsi ini akan diselenggarakan pada 12 Maret 2023 di Dolby Theatre Los Angeles, Amerika Serikat.

Michelle Yeoh kembali menunjukkan prestasinya di Hollywood sebagai artis Asia. Ini menjadi pertama kalinya masuk nominasi Piala Oscar. Berikut daftar nominasi Piala Oscar 2023. Yuk simak ulasannya di bawah ini!

Michelle Yeoh Debut di Piala Oscar

Melalui film Everything Everywhere All At Once, Michelle Yeoh akhirnya debut di Piala Oscar 2023 untuk kategori Best Actress. Setelah mendengar namanya masuk nominasi untuk kategori Artis Terbaik di Piala Oscar 2023, Michelle Yeoh mengaku dirinya sebagai perwakilan orang Asia.

“Ini mewakili begitu banyak orang (Asia) yang berharap untuk dilihat dengan cara ini, untuk duduk di meja dan mengatakan, 'Saya juga berharga, saya perlu dilihat juga’,” ujar Michelle Yeoh dilansir dari The Guardians pada Rabu, 25 Januari 2023.

Pada Piala Oscar 2023, ini menjadi rekor pertama yang menjadikan artis Asia masuk sejumlah nominasi seperti Stephanie Hsu sebagai Artis Pendukung Terbaik melalui Everything Everywhere  All At Once dan Hong Chau sebagai Aktor Pendukung Terbaik melalui The Whale.

Selain Michelle Yeoh dan Stephanie Hsu, sejumlah nominasi juga ditujukan untuk Everything Everywhere All At Once di antaranya Sutradara Terbaik (Daniel Kwan dan Daniel Scheinert), Film Terbaik hingga Skenario Terbaik.

Tak cuma itu, Michelle Yeoh juga menjadi artis Asia pertama yang dinominasikan untuk kategori Best Actress, sejak Merle Oberon (asal India) yang juga dinominasikan untuk kategori serupa pada 1935.
