Dewi Gontha: What's Ahead for Concerts and The Music Industry?

In this episode, our host Gundy Cahyadi talks with Dewi Gontha, President Director of Java Festival. Dewi is the woman behind the Java Jazz festival, one of the biggest music festivals in Indonesia for the last 16 years.

Covid has had a huge impact on the music industry, as no event production was allowed during the pandemic. Given the significant economic contribution from music festivals, it is definitely encouraging that festivals are now allowed once again.

Incredibly, Dewi and her team managed to hold the Java Jazz Festival in May 2022, just two months after getting the go-ahead from the government.

Separately, the two also talk about Indonesia’s music talent and what is necessary to bring more Indonesian artists to the world stage.
